Here’s the NYC Hurricane Irene Evacuation Map

Hurricane Irene path is definitely going towards NYC and may head towards northern America. Mayor Michael Bloomberg declared compulsory evacuations for some areas in New York City especially in coastal areas where there is high risk.

For your convenience, below is a map of the New York City Hurricane Irene Evacuation Map.

All the railroads, subways, and buses are starting to shutdown so people are advised to evacuate immediately. New Yorkers who lives in the low-lying Zone “A” coastal areas must evacuate immediately. Further there will be evacuation centers that will be opened for residents who have no alternative shelter.

*NOTE: The Evacuation Center marked in the hurricane evacuation zone map as Aqueduct Racetrack, Rockaway Blvd. & 108th Street in Queens is being replaced by John Adams High School, 101-01 Rockaway Blvd., Ozone Park, 11417.

*NOTE: The Evacuation Center marked in the NYC hurricane evacuation zone map as Christ the King H.S. has been moved to Grover Cleveland H.S. Check the zone finder or call 311 for updated information.

*NOTE: The Evacuation Center at JHS 57, 125 Stuyvesant Avenue, Brooklyn is being closed. The center will be moved to PS26 at 1010 Lafayette Avenue, Brooklyn.

*NOTE: The Evacuation Center marked in the NYC hurricane evacuation zone map as HS of Graphic Communication Arts, 439 West 49 St., Manhattan, is being replaced by Park West High School, 525 West 50 St., Manhattan.

There will be also a hurricane Irene watch for New York City showing Hurricane Irene’s path and condition within 48 hours.

As advised by the government of NYC, be sure to have first aid kits, water, emergency supply kits, non-perishable food, flash lights, battery operated radio and battery for your safety.
