Have you seen the latest ad from McDonalds? Two kids are in a courting (ligawan) situation. If not, well that’s because McDonalds has already pulled it out after the CBCP or Catholic Bishops’ Conference of the Philippines commented and complained against McDonald’s Boyfriend Girlfriend (BFGF) ad.

According to CBCP:

“If the ad attempted to teach commitment, (it failed) because it was too superficial to point to a packet of French fries as the basis of a relationship.”

“The two children are not even at the right age for this kind of relationship. It might also pave the way for us to lose sight of the good ways of shaping the values of our children.”

“Ang punto eh hindi ang pagiging… Baka ang punto ng kumpanya ay mura ang french fries nila. Pero ang punto de vista rito, ang human relationship ba ay french fries lang ba ang katumbas?” sabi ni Fr. Melvin Castro, executive secretary ng CBCP.

After the said comment and complain, McDonalds immediately pulled out the said advertisement.

IF you haven’t watch the add yet, you can watch it below:

A lot of people are saying that the CBCP just overreacted or they were way too strict or something like those comments. But what do you think? Is the CBCP morally right? Should the ad be really removed because it could affect the youth specially the children or they are just being judgmental…?
