How to setup your own PayPal Account

This is a step by step guide to help you setup your own Paypal Account today.

1. The first step is to go to PayPal by clicking here: PayPal.com or typing www.paypal.com into your internet browser.

2. Once the page loads, click on the SIGN UP button.

3. Then select the type of account you want. Choose from Personal, Premium or Business Account.

Here’s the difference between the three account types:

Personal Accounts are for individuals and ideal for shopping online without revealing any of your financial details.

Premier accounts are for individuals who are buying and selling online.

Business accounts are for organizations wanting to sign up to buy and sell online using a business name.

Note: Student Account is not open to all countries in the world.

Make sure you have selected your Country and your language before proceeding to the next step.

4. Select the account that best suit you and continue.

5. Complete the information required, accept the terms and conditions, then click “Agree and Create Account”.

Note: Business account sign up process requires some extra information, such as your business name, business address, and customer services contact details.

If any information is incomplete or incorrect, you will be prompted to reenter it correctly before continuing.

Note: Please do read the User Agreement before clicking the “Agree and Create Account” button.

6. Once you have successfully completed the sign up process, check you email for an activation email sent from PayPal. It will be sent from service@paypal.com.

7. Open the activation email. You’ll notice that the activation email will address you with your first and last name.

Note: For security purposes, all PayPal contact emails will always address you by your first and last name.

8. Press “click here to activate”. This will take you to the PayPal page to confirm your email address and activate your PayPal account. When you are directed to your PayPal site, you nee to enter your password and press confirm.

Congratulations! You have successfully created a PayPal account and can start trading online.

Before you can use your account to purchase or withdraw funds, you need to add a funding source such as a bank account, debit or credit card.

Note: All accounts have a spending limit imposed and to lift the spending limit you should verify your account.
